Day 6 Calzadilla de la Cueza to Moratinos 12 km

I was almost the last one to leave the albergue in Calzadilla. I was not in a hurry because this was going to be a short walk to Moratinos. Walking was nice - I took the longer alternative route up on the hills.

It was quiet and only me and a French couple on the alternative route. The French couple had walked the camino in many years a week here and another week there. Now they were walking about 35 to 40 km every day and maybe reaching Santiago de Compostela this year.

I was also walked by an American woman from North Carolina who had a very little rucksack - good for her - she had problems with her feet - blisters.

I got to Moratinos around 12 and had called Rebekah before so she was expecting me. It was wonderful to she meet her finally in real life. Pat was at home too and thier friend Freddy and a guest Rachel, the four dogs, hens and a cat.

My room so nice, clean and quiet, luxury.

Rachel and I took the hospitalero training course right a way  with Rebekah as a leader. Only a break for a lunch - vegetarian pie and sallad Paddy had made. Then a walk to Rebekah 's bodega, and a walk with the dogs to the Promised Land. The Promised Land was a ditch with about 10 cm fresh water in it for the dogs who threw themselves into the water.

So I have the hospitalera training now and can volunter at an albergue somewhere in Spain, maybe Burgos because I like that city so much, so many good memories and the beautiful cathedral.

In the evening we had a nice vegetarian dinner together with some wine and them it was time for me to go to bed. I slept well - it was very quiet and tranquillo.
